Locking/Unlocking the car
To unlock the vehicle at the beginning of your booking, and to lock it securely when your booking finishes, follow these instructions.
With a smartphone
Unlock: Start your booking using the “Start usage” button and then tap/click ‘Unlock’ to unlock the car.
Lock: Ensure all the doors are shut properly, and the engine is off and return the physical key to the glovebox. Then tap/click the red 'Lock' button on the app. Check the doors are actually locked before ending your booking.
With a Vehicle Access Card
Unlock: You tap the Vehicle Access Card on the card reader on the passenger side of the car.
Lock: Ensure all the doors are shut properly, and the engine is off and return the physical key to the glovebox. Tap the Vehicle Access Card on the card reader on the passenger side of the car.
When you first start your booking you will need to use our smartphone app (or a Vehicle Access Card instead if you have requested one) to unlock the car. During your booking we recommend using the physical key from the car to lock/unlock the vehicle when you park away from the home location. However, if you lock the car with the app and then unlock it with the physical key you may not be able to start the car due to the nature of the technology and security factors.
